		<description><![CDATA[I&#039;d be very surprised to learn that savings are realised by amalgamating police forces. Unless they&#039;ve all got way too much bureaucracy in place and part of the amalgamation would be to reduce that level of bureaucracy. Which hardly seems likely.

Projected savings in making the Scottish FBI are just that, projected. How anyone can believe they can have one police force with one dominant set of objectives and still effectively serve say, for example, both Easterhouse and Thurso, is beyond me.]]></description>
