A winning auction bid for a portrait of Margaret Thatcher is returned to donor.
The Bureau of Investigative Journalism was leaked documents relating to last year’s Conservative Summer Party.
Attendees at this private event had paid up to £1,000 a ticket, or had been invited by table sponsors.
Guests revealed by the investigation included:
73 from the financial sector
47 from the retail and property sector
19 lobbyists and public affairs representatives
And 10 from the extractive industries sector
Also at the event were Russians with links to the Kremlin and shipping magnates
Pot of honey and Thatcher-signed champagne fetched tens of thousands of pounds at Conservative summer.
