The Coalition government has rapidly increased its use of little-known powers to strip dual nationals of their British citizenship if the Home Secretary deems it ‘conducive to the public good’.

Since 2006, 27 people have lost their citizenship on national security grounds; 24 of these were under the current Coalition government. What has become of many of these individuals is unknown.
