Promoting Journalism: Bureau wins Thomson Reuters Reporting Europe award

In March 2011 the Bureau won the UACES Thomson Reuters Reporting Europe Prize for its report Europe’s Missing Millions, for the BBC’s Radio 4 File on Four programme.

The award recognises work which stimulates critical debate on European integration in English speaking media.

In presenting the award, the judges praised the ‘in-depth research which made the programme’s revelations credible, and the outstanding skill and professionalism with which it laid bare stories of deception and abuse in Sicily and elsewhere.’  Previous winners include the Economist, the International Herald Tribune and BBC Radio 4.
