Student journalists: Your chance to be a Google News Lab Fellow at the Bureau

Are you a student interested in journalism and technology? And would you like to work at the Bureau for eight weeks next summer?

If so, you have until January 15 to apply for a Google News Lab Fellowship at the Bureau.

The Google News Lab Fellowship is an exciting new initiative offering students keen on journalism and technology the opportunity to win an eight-week placement at leading media organisations across the UK between June and September next year.

The Bureau is delighted to be a Google News Lab partner organisation alongside some of the most important names in our industry. The successful candidate will be based at the Bureau’s office in London and work with our experienced reporters to develop stories using technology.

Experience with a web programming language, such as HTML or Javascript, and spreadsheet software such as Excel is preferred.

Successful applicants will be given a stipend of up to £6,400 for an eight week attachment to cover expenses and travel.

You have to be a UK student or a student studying in the UK with a current visa to qualify.

Please click here for full details of the scheme including a link to the application. The closing date for applications is January 15. Successful applicants will be notified by March 31. Good luck!
