UK financing multi-million pounds of European loans
The UK is underwriting muti-million pound European Investment Bank (EIB) loans for overseas projects, despite a lack of finance for UK businesses.
Loans include £11m for a luxury hotel in Morocco, £80m for a toilet roll factory in Mexico, £44m for wine-making in Moldova.
