Off-the-shelf technology now on sale to government security agencies allows them to monitor, store, and censor an entire country’s telephone and online data traffic. This is surveillance technology taken to a massive scale.

This video showcases technologies such as ‘deep packet inspection’, offered by iPoque in Germany and Qosmos in France, and the ability to compress and store billions of hours of this information for future analysis offered by VASTech, a South African company.
